Fairytale Tarot (MRP) -- Three of Wands

Master_Margarita

The meaning of this card is neatly exemplified by a tale from the Arabian Nights' Entertainment--the First Voyage of Sindbad the Seaman.

Sindbad is captured at the very beginning of his many adventures in the image of this card, looking out to sea. This card is about the beginnings of a new enterprise, and the moment when we face the excitement of exploration and expansion. There are many lovely details here--the Persian carpet on the deck of the ship, the birds (seagulls?) in the sky, the map in front of Sindbad (although he is not consulting it as we see him).

(In the first voyage, he will ride on the back of a giant fish, meet a man who crossbreeds horses with seafoam steeds, and so on.)
