TGC The Game Crafter and Shipping costs

Why not just go to their site and look it up?

https://www.thegamecrafter.com/

Not to change the subject - but since it was brought up - has anyone noticed that the cost of mailing/shipping on eBay, Amazon, or anywhere -regardless of the item- roughly costs almost the same amount as the item did to buy?

That's TOTALLY not their fault (now that they have the mailing box issue sorted !) And Canada is as bad. I just had to mail a $5 DVD to a friend 100 miles from here. It cost me $9.50 to mail. It would have been cheaper to buy her a new copy from amazon and have them send it

But if you are within the EU, ludocards.com are a better option - no customs charges if you want to buy a lot and sell on.

Thanks for the INFO

I was in the process of setting up my own Oracle cards, "Enchanted Wisdom" through The GameCrafter. In fact I had completed 40 cards and went to purchase a package so I could check the sample. When I got to the check out (I'm in Canada) It was an additional $14 to get the cards, which was double what I was paying over all. I refuse to pay that high of an amount - so I stepped back.

After reading this parts of this thread (I couldn't read all, there were just SO many pages), I realize that I'm not alone. Luckily I didn't go through because I felt so bad not just for myself paying that much for shipping but also to have my potential buyers pay it.

I know I'm among like-minded individuals now :p

just to post TGC added UPS shipping option making it much more affordable now!^^
(it's around 9$ worldwide!^^ definitively worth checking out!^^ lolz ;)

That's a lot cheaper than using the USPS. Last time I sent a 5 oz deck to Australia it cost me $16 shipping.

Wow. That sounds great. That was one of the major obstacles deck creators had on their site. Glad that's been addressed.

Any news on their cardstock, though? It would be great if their stock is on par with PS and MPC. I mean, their pricing is great - their custom printed box alone is way cheaper than competitors (around 1/4 the price), and casino-quality stock would really level up the quality of their stuff.

:) Roxi Sim is our popular TGC publisher and she say she's happy with it!:) so maybe you may ask her if she can compare it with MPS/PS (in case she printed with them?:) personally I'm yet to make my GC order(that will wait until I finish my jumbo card project!^^) will be sure to post review on my blog when it's finally done!^^ lolz ;))

game crafter shipping and card stock

yes at long last they went to UPS for shipping which cuts costs in about half depending on your order. So happy about that. Game crafter does listen and change happens. I sell my Pearls of Wisdom Tarot in two sizes poker and jumbo, and I use two kinds of card stock. One of the reasons I like Game crafter is that you can change it up. So my bronze editions come with no packaging and plain card stock. My gold and platinum editions come with linen finish and UV coating and clam shell boxing. the Platinum comes with a layout board and large box and both decks. This way you can be all things to your customers with print on demand.

It is hard to compete with published decks, but I have had steady sales and they pay out via pay pal, and I have never had a problem with that.

So things are getting better, shipping and card stock. Even if you just wanted to have one copy of your deck, to get a feel or use to send out to publishers this is a good option.

International sales have been great, to India, Australia, the UK Germany and more. lots more to the US as shipping is cheaper and no exchange rate.

Thanks for all that info! I really should go back to their site and check out what's new with them. What I find attractive about them is you can set up the shop structure and leave it on its own. Where can I find more about the clamshell box they have? Also, how is the cardstock now?
