Mystic Dreamer Tarot--Ace of Cups

afrosaxon

The Ace of Cups has a winter feel; not much color to this card at all. A large crystal-looking goblet sits atop a tall stone pedestal in the middle of a lake. Ferns grow at the base of the pedestal. Moonlight illuminates the goblet; darkness surrounds this patch of light on the sides of the card. Misty water streams from the goblet and pours down the stone pedestal. A woman sits at the base of the pedestal on flower petals. She has her arms outstretched to catch the water, and she is dressed in a long, flowing white gown. A white dove flies over the goblet. Six birds fly in the sky. The background of this card isn't clear; it's shrouded in the mist.

This woman is the only one in the aces to wear white. Why? Emotion is the purer suit? Emotions are more closely linked to the moon? Innocence of new emotion?

Why six birds?

Ferns...everlasting, evergreen. Emotions are always present?

The mist...emotions are nebulous? I'm reminded of a French saying: "the heart has reasons which reason itself knows nothing of."

The white dove...dove of peace. Or part of a turtledove pair (which is associated with love--doves are sometimes released at weddings).

Thoughts?

this card almost makes me think of winter, cause of all the white. the dove is a gift (friendship, love), and the water pouring out of the chalice represents the abundance the gift. it pours over the rock and into a lake... the girl at the bottom im not really sure of what to think about her.

she is the only woman to be wearing white... maybe purity or innocence..?? im not sure...

the birds... have you noticed that always seem to be flying in pointed direction? like north south west and east. i know the four directions is a pretty big deal in wiccan practice. each direction having its own intent, element, purpose... its just a guess

6 birds

Could the 6 birds point to the Lovers card? in the sense of union rather than choice, or perhaps of following your heart connection, as Barbara Moore suggests.

ace of cups
Its great to see your interpretations:)
Here is what i ment with it:)
5 streams floating from the cups represents the abundance and power of the spirit and the effect of spiritual enery upon our 5 sences. It represents in a way also the five elements. Earth, water, fire, air and spirit . And they are combined the source of all energy, the primal source that create, and nourisch those elements.
@meril saw it right that there was a pagan influence in the deck, but it was on a different part:)

The dove signifying incarnation and appearance of the spirit in the material world, telling you to trust your own feelings. How you see the dove in the deck should tell you more about yourself. Do you feel the dove seems lonely then there is sorrow in your life, dissapointment. If the dove seems peacefull to you then it means harvest, and confidence in yourself and your friends
if the dove looks to you tired, then in your life, things will slow down.
If the dove gives you the feeling of bringing some gift, then pleasant things are coming, not material things but spiritual things like friendship.
just a few examples.
The deck has always been ment to trigger the intuition, and only by digging into your intuition you will 'feel' deeper :)

So this card is about your intuition , its all about emotions and generosity.
There are 9 birds in the sky but three of them are hidden in de darkness of the border :( who got darker then in the original cards.
The women sits in water , what is again a symbol of our emotions. and she embrace the rock with the waterfalls. meaning that we again have to listen to our emotions and intuition.
The color of the dresses in the deck have no specific meanings. If they tell more about the card , it will be purely luck. ( but on the other side, does luck excist? ).
