Thank you for identifying St Francis, girls! I know the name, but need to go look him up.


He appears to be almost running. Away. Running back to nature, to Mother Earth, to truth. It is a journey that must be taken alone.

This makes sense… he doesn’t appear to be unhappy in his solitude.
I think that he prefers the company of animals to men, and the simplicity of going back to nature.

When I look at this card, I see a man who has turned his ear toward the animals to hear them more clearly. His eyes appear to be closed, so I imagine he is focused on the messages they have to offer: owl (knowledge), deer (gentleness), cat (mystery).
