Frieda Harris Painting on eBay

Amazing find, it has her signature style all over it. I wonder, is it an occult painting? I know she did some paintings similar to Tarot for meditation, tracing boards.

I wonder if this is another one. It certainly seems so, although this is a lot more abstract than those.

The tracing boards (I have a framed set of prints) were specifically related to co-masonic degrees. This one I'm not sure about.

More information Freida Harris gave this to Edwin Hewitt - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edwin_Hewitt during WWII, he was working in England with the US Army Air Corp. Funny how the guy main work was on abstract harmonic analysis ended up connected with Freida Harris.

Deja vu. I published an article on solutions of second order homogeneous elliptic partial differential equations as generalized harmonic (trigonometric) functions, and was directed to abstract harmonic analysis by a colleague at New York University. Thus I was led to study some of Hewitt's work. Small world.

It is the shipping that made me choke.

Why is this on eBay, something this should be handled by an auction house. Gorgeous work of art.

Well, duh. :bugeyed:

It was a different slant. I was doing harmonic analysis from a geometric perspective. Abstract harmonic analysis is more algebraic.

What I've always found fascinating is the occult connections, between art science and mathematics both in subject matter and in "personalities". When a small relationship like this is de-occulted it makes me smile
