Trimmmed Mythic Tarot

I was so tentative about trimming my Mythic. I never liked the borders on the front, but the back boarders were quite classy and I didn't want to lose them. I searched and seached for pictures of the deck trimmed, but to no avail. So I took the plunge and did it.

I hope that if anyone was contemplating trimming the Mythic that this helped. I am glad I trimmed all the way down to the picture. I find titles distracting, and the cards are so small and portable now. :)

I admire your courage, Fadestoblackk! I remember when I decided to trim my large Thoth, it took hours for me to take the first swipe. Then the rest of the cards came easily.

You did a great job on trimming! The cards look beautiful. It really brings the artwork to center stage when the borders and words are gone. I don't mind borders on some decks, because the border seems to work with the art of the card, but on other decks the borders and words only serve as a distraction.

Way to go!

You aren't giving yourself enough credit! These look great! The edges are smooth, straight and clean. Really, in all honesty, you have done very well! Much better than some of my trimmed cards!

I would even go as far to say I would trust you to trim my decks any day!

Sulis

They look gorgeous. Much better than with those horrible beige borders.

Are you going to round the corners?
They can feel a bit sharp when shuffling and rounded corners give that finished off look.
Corner punches are very cheap and easy to get hold of from art and hobby shops.

Well done you :)
I trimmed my DruidCraft deck and the trimming was almost like a bonding session; the deck felt so much more like my deck when I'd finished.

Yes, indeed, Sulis, the Druidcraft almost requires trimming.
I trimmed mine while listening to Peter Pan :)

As to rounding the corners, I actually like how they look now. I don't mind the pointy corners. With my Druidcraft, I banged the corners down a little with the flat of the scissors, but I don't think I will do that with these. They look so crisp :)

These make me want to get the mythic and trim them.

Well, I happened to have my Mythic and a big scissors handy, and I don't know what came over me, because I've never trimmed a deck before (even though I've wanted to) but I saw how good they looked and before I could chicken out, I just started to cut them.

I've done five so far, and I love how they look--I'm already noticing details in the cards I hadn't even been able to focus on before because of those ugly beige borders. The backs on my deck are different, so they look a little weird, but I don't care because I love the fronts so much, and the size works better for me, too. Thanks for the idea and photos, fadestoblackk!

Oooh they look great!

I'm such a chicken though i don't know if i can bear to trim my decks i would make such a mess of them!

I have this deck, have had it since Sept and can't say that I used it much mainly because I don't actually like it. However after looking at your trimmed Mythic I have to say that it adds something that seemed missing. Mostly I have to agree with whom ever said the nasty beige border.....just horrid against the colors in the rest of the deck. Could be the clash of the borders with the bright vivid color of the deck that I had problems with.

I have taken a pair of shears to my RWS deck before, however I'm not sure if I wanna trim them down completely to the picture only or to the title also...hmmm...may have to cut some them decided or the shears decide for me ;)
