"Pimp my Rider!"

AJ

I always thing when a deck goes in that trade box, "oh, if I were rich I'd just keep all the moon cards" :)
I think taking a plain pip deck and collaging what those cards mean to me would be a great tarot exercise. Sort of like visual journaling rather then written one.

I''m alone today, but it's nothing new, Rob travels for work and in 40 years of marriage he hits home maybe one holiday a year. I got over it a long time ago. I'm having fun today experimenting with fiber and fruit muffin recipes. It smells SO GOOD in here!

back to trimming decks...

shadowdancer

well, just had a womble around the craft section of a local store and couldn't find anything remotely like the embelishment you used Kissa.

Will keep my eyes open whenever I am in a craft shop or scrapbooking shop though :)

AJ: what are you trimming right now? Geez woman, you have all my respect and admiration for getting used to the fact that hubby is away a lot. I guess you cannot be called "emotionally dependent"... That's (one of) my problem(s): I always need acknowledgment and kuddos from my guy but isn't recognizing the problem half way to remission? ;-)
ETA: pimping non-scenic pips = brilliant idea. I remember cerulean pimping her Eden Tarot many years ago, she said she added animal stickers I think.
I wonder if I should start a pimping thread...

shadowdancer: try online shops. They must have that somewhere. If you are stuck, we will work something out (me shipping peel off sheets to you).

hi Kissa, thanks for that

I have just e-mailed a supplier in the UK who have a shedload of these sheets to see if they would send a few to me in NZ. I have an idea (and it is only an idea at this stage) of perhaps seeing how they might look on my Illluminated when it arrives, as I have gone for the unadorned. I sense it might not work, or may totally ruin the look but I may try. It would be just a hint here and there to be honest in either gold or silver. The good thing is, being peel on ones I can have a try and if it doesn't work, no harm done.

Also looking at my Fantastic Menagerie and Mythic with half an eye...lol

Yours look so good I really want to have a go :)

Kissa, those look amazing! What fun! The 'trim and pimp' sure changes the look of those cards!

It looks like you've used a large corner rounder on them, is there a size listed on it? I've got a small one and like it, but haven't seen one with that large of an arc.

I'll be venturing into the scrapbooking section of my local(ish) craft store with an eye for deck pimping now!

Stunning, Kissa! And the embellishments suit the cards so well ...

AJ

I get to go home today!!! I'm grabbing one of those trade decks (can't even remember what is in the box)
Please do start a Pimper thread so we don't abort Pippi's trimming classics here.

Kissa

Your wish is my command!!! See you on the new thread for a show and tell!!!

Pimp my pack!

Hi there,

Rebels, wannabe artists, real artists, craftsmen and women, lonely bored depressive deck owners, let us join and start altering seriously those decks that lie around our houses, unused and discarded...

Anyone who feels to have a go at it.. Please join in!

Here is what I did this weekend: I pimped the lovely but as such totally useless Medieval Tarot by LoScarabeo.
Check the photo album on Facebook (you don't need to be registered) http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=43943&id=1647180059&l=d5b1e37f60
Man, that was fun!

I also listed some pics on the Trimmed decks thread here:
http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=98688&page=27&pp=10 and wrote a lot about it, then a discussion started that has nothing to do with the original thread anymore... So please Moddy, Moddy pretty please, could you cut the mentioned thread from message #263 (where all this altering delirium started) onward? Otherwise poor Pippi's thread on trimming and cutting decks feels quite altered ;-) and hijacked.

I am not familiar with moderating technical issues so I don't know if you can insert the messages here or need to create yet another new thread..

So here we go, show and tell, talk about your projects, make suggestions, share your enthusiasm, ask your questions. It is going to be fun :)

Anyhow, your turn now :)

Ready... Steady... Piiiiiiiimp! ;-)

Woo-Hoo~! You'll never guess what deck I've chosen to bling out.
Robert Place's The Saints. I've had it in my trade thread twice so tough noogies if someone thinks it's sacrilege.

I've got my inks and pens and 'stuff' already packed in the car.
I also tucked in a cheap give-away casino deck to practice on :)
I'm not sure what sort of things stick to cardstock.

Thanks for starting our thread.

Maybe I'll have a 1st card to show before bedtime.
