Krebs-Piatnik Le Chariot PC

Terrapinflyer

I did not see anything in a search here, and found no information in Kaplan I or II.

Does anyone here know to whom the initials PC on the shield on Le Chariot refer? I assume Ignaz Krebs was the cardmaker/publisher, and the plates were engraved by PC?

How do I find people active in Krebs' area in the xviii c?

Sorry, I don't have a lot of sources here. Thanks.

Hi, I also did not find anything about the initials "PC" on the Chariot.
For other cardmakers in that area (Freiburg/Breisgau) you could have a look here - scroll down untill you see the Tarot cards.

But it says only that Ignaz Krebs was a merchant and "Zunftmeister", that is something like master of craft/guild. It says also that the old "town-archives" haven't been worked thru yet. So it seems we have to wait until somebody goes there and does a decent search thru the archives...
BTW, the earliest cardmaker in that area (south-western Germany) mentioned on that website was Johann Martin Krebs (born 1679). But it doesn't say anything further.
