Fifth Tarot -- Apprentice of Shells

Sanctum_Priest

This card is the equivalent of Queen of Water/cups

"In the Apprentice of Shells, a woman bends over a stream, staring at her reflection in the crystal clear waters...[she] has learned her first important lesson: self-love...She is unafraid of her own reflections, but rather caresses it lovingly in the stream."

"In the sparkling water of the stream, she sees the image of the Goddess smiling back at her and she is nurtured by the unconditional love of the Mother. In this she understands the second principle: Self-love....she sends out ripples of love to all creation, bringing the third principle of love: loving others."

I quite like the Jungian distinction here between self-love and Self-love.

"There is a lightness to the whole image, which reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously. Love is the key to enjoying the waters of life....The Apprentice of Shells is well on her way to understanding the element, water."

And I have learnt a phenomenal amount from these cards and the book in particular. I would recommend them to anyone on their own spiritual journey.
