100 Card Tarot

I think Egypt Urnash's Tarot of the Silicon Dawn, and Jeff Donato's Didactic Tarot are two of the most interesting decks of the recent era. Both push boundaries, play with stereotypes, and are far from the usual boring RWS reiterations.

Both are quirky artists, Urnash working digitally, and Donato with more conventional illustrative techniques. They are also, both, very approachable, giving and accessible.

Curiously both tarot decks come with excellent companion books. Neither are huge texts, but go a long way to explaining the decks and the decisions made during their creation.

Although I don't use either for daily tarot work, they are two of the decks I reach for when I want to be pushed out of my comfort zone, or just want to get a different perspective on a card or reading.

The additional cards, in both cases, enhance the deck/s.

I'd commend both as truly original works, within the larger Tarot canon.
