Archangel Power Tarot

Rev_Vesta

I always find her stuff kick butt but maybe that is how I read from the cards (not neccessarly from the book).... her cards appeal to beginners because they are an easy start deck) The Angel tarot are good for those starting on tarot and want the imagery to be a bit gentler but the messages are quite straight to the point...... certainly not for everyone because we are all at different levels......

I am looking forward to see this new deck, and see which client is drawn to them.......

Her decks are popular, whether they are for beginners or not. Somebody is out there buying them or they wouldn't continue to make more. I guess as long as they sell they will still have her make more.

There's nothing new to say about DV

I do find something slightly pornographic - maybe I mean obscene - about someone churning out deck after deck after deck after deck of supposedly spiritual stuff. I mean is spiritual assistance really so mass-produced? I don't even think she does them.

LMAO!! But at the same time, it really isn't funny, it's actually annoying. I went to buy crystals at a metaphysical shop yesterday and her decks really have taken over most of the tarot and oracle shelves. There is another shop I go to also, they still have a nice variety, but I wonder how long that will last.

I have some of her oracle decks, and there are several I even like to use every now and then. But most of them I've tried to sell or trade and noone wants them, hmm.. ironic!

A friend of mine has every DV deck, and ofcourse I do look at them every time she's acquired another. Lately I've been getting really disgusted, even with my friend, because she keeps buying them, lol. I mean, the messages are always the same repetitive same old same old.. The only difference is the name and images.
She even argued one day that there wasn't a difference between buying different tarot decks or buying different DV decks, the core meanings were the same, just the name and images were different... Needless to say, I had to change the subject fast before I felt the urge to slap some sense into her.

I also think the Angel Tarot is fugly. It's a great deck for people who are too lazy to learn to read real tarot, or just don't want to be bothered. Because there is nothing appealing about this deck, but readable for everyone because the messages are written on the cards themselves. I can't imagine people who have learned and worked with regular tarot can enjoy using this deck!

Le Fanu is onto something there. To have them amount of decks come out, jeesh! and on some channels I see on youtube, people are snapping up the Indigo Angels deck. I since purchased Denise Linn's gateway oracle and have been pleased with them. Now I find the decks empty. But people are still buying DV decks. LOL

What I had written and deleted was that - No - I don't think she does them. She's so massive now she can have them knocked out by minions and have somebody in Bangladesh gilt the edges. There is always somebody in the west who likes shopping who will pay good money for an instant injection of *spiritualism* in order to go hand in hand with angels in search of [cough] self-knowledge.

But I deleted that and much, much more! :D

Well her recent cards are pretty much with other people right from Angel Tarot. I wouldn't not agree with you RE the other people working on them. I have noticed that the decks of Doreen is FLIMSY, I have decks from Denise Linn and Caroline Myss which is of a superior quality to some of the DV decks I have. I am glad I didn't carry on with DV decks, the quality of the decks are just tat compared to even other Hay House authors.

I suspect that Virtue finally caught onto the fact that these past few years, Tarot has become a Big Thing, and even though she doesn't really have a grasp of what Tarot really is, she has decided to cash in.

There are a lot of people who are kind of interested in Tarot, but are either so heavy into the Sweetness and Light and Cotton Candy Unicorns and if you only have positive happy thoughts and hold hands and sing Kumbaya, all will be right with the world, or at least the little New Age bubble that you inhabit kind of spirituality that they can't deal with *gasp* dark imagery, or they are timid souls who find cards like the Tower, Death, and the Devil frightening and can't bear the thought of a big, scary card coming up in a reading, which creates a market of people who would like to buy a Tarot deck but can't deal with the idea that the cards might predict something potentially scary or life-changing.

A Doreen Virtue Tarot would be right up their alley.

BTW, she has another deck coming out in, I believe October, a collaborative effort with notorious charlatan James Von Pragh, called Talking to Heaven, which is a deck of "medium cards". I sent the Amazon link to a friend of mine who is a natural medium, but can't control his ability, joking that he might be able to use them to sort out the voices telling him to approach random strangers and tell them that their late Great Aunt Tillie says that the money is wedged in the crack between the bottom and the back of the sofa, but if the artwork on the Angel Tarot is any indication, it might just induce projectile vomiting. He e-mailed back that interpreting the projectile vomiting might be a more useful form of divination.

I always use a regular Tarot deck for angel work. I generally use Connolly with the Golden Dawn angel correspondences.
