Vision Quest - Four of Water

Soaring Eagle

Description: It is night, and the full moon is shining brightly in a starry sky. There are two rivers and between the two rivers are four jugs of water completely filled. There are ivy plants in front of the jugs. In the background are distant mountains.

Significant Details: The four jugs are filled, showing their abundance. The moon in the sky gives us a sense of changes coming. The moon might be suggesting that we only think we have an abundance.

My Interpretation: Right now you have plenty, there is an abundance, but things are ready to change. Be careful with what you have. You may receive money soon. Don’t be tempted to overspend at this time, even if you have extra, don’t be tempted by unnecessary luxuries.

I get a sense of caution in this card. A sense of needing to be careful. As water is an emotional suit, this card could also be telling us that we have an abundance of emotions, possibly we're over-emotional during this time. It's possible that we only believe we have an abundance, when really there isn't one right now.

Numerology Reference: 4 - Security, Stability, Foundation, Focus, Structure, Stagnation

Keywords*: Abundance, plenty, the temptations of luxury, wealth, fleeting gratification, voraciousness, impending change

Inner message*: Something inside you has reached a crucial point of ripeness. Your cups are comletely full. And now you bein to understand the significance of this card: what is full to the brim will be emptied, naturally. Whenever there is a high point of plenty, there is a change, and in time, a return to the ‘emptiness’ from which it all came to begin with.

Outward manifestation*: Fullness and abundance, marked by a situation reaching its peak. In an important area of your life the height of success has been reached. Now circumstances will change (this doesn’t mean failur, though!). Your momentary staisfaction already feels a little stale as you look ahead. This kind of gratification must be losing its grip on you… Outer riches and success in business no longer provide the desired inner fulfillment.

Thoughts/Points to Ponder: Love (2), Fullness (3) and Abundance (4) – Through love we have found fullness, which eventually had lead to abundance. Some of the most beautiful things to have in this world. However, if not careful or shown enough gratitude, everything can be taken away from us.

My Interpretation: As the day moves into a night, if you’re not careful of what you have, you might lose all the richness and abundance that you have now. However, if in a negative state (as water does represent the emotions), do not let it overflow. You can let the tears come or feel bad for the night. In the morning, you will feel renewed and refreshed :).

Emotions can be tough, especially if we let them over rule us. We can allow them to come occasionally, and it's good to let them out, it shouldn't be done too often or too much.
