Also, I know that in the past there was practice to put in a book a sheet with a list of noticed errors (at least some publishers in Russia did that). So there is no need to correct the text in the book itself. In our age of emails and printers there is an option to send such a list to everyone who backed the project so that they could print it and add to the book.
Errata. They are often (but not always) available for knitting books. I print them out and put them inside the front cover of the book even if I don't currently have any interest in those particular corrections right now cause who knows if the corrected info will always be available....
