shuffling - banzhaf-crowley

I am reading the key words for Crowley tarot and in the frequently asked questions I am getting more and more curious.
regarding shuffling, pg 15 Q - should you concentrate on question and their answer is : absolutely not.....
I don't get it, if I am not thinking of the question, my mind might well think of my grocery list...
what do you think?

I rarely ever thing of anything when I shuffle. Readings work anyway. Thinking of your "grocery list" is probably as good a way as any of clearing your mind and not forcing any expectations on the reading.

Really, just seems like you need to think to connect.....and I was taught years ago to focus on question, so there must be many theories on this?

Well, I never bother. And my readings seem to work - I have a lot of happy customers, here and in my community. I don't ask them to focus, either.
