8 cups would be moving on, 10 pents may indicate growing up, as in just get over it and 3 swords suggests he wants you to stop holding on, sever those remaining few ties.

Just leave the situation (8/C), and though there's heartbreak on both sides, it's over and too much damage has been done (10/P next to 3/S) .
