"your name" spread

Not sure why you would bother with using the person's name since the letters weren't used for anything else? The first spread had 3 cards, the second had 3, and I believe the last has 5 cards. Why not just deal out 3, 3, and 5 cards and forget the letter stuff.

Actually use the letter values and compare/integrate these to the card values.

T - O - M
2 + 6 + 4 = 12 [The Hanged Man / root The Empress]

Then say the first 3 cards for the PPF were;

Hierophant [5] .. QoC [0] .. 3oW [3]
5+0+3=8 [Strength]

Name Total Overview
The Hanged Man - Letting go
The Empress - The need to grow

Card Total Overview
Strength - and finding your own self-confidence

Complete Overview
"Letting go will allow you to grow and find your own self-confidence."

This way there is actually a reason to use the letters. Otherwise they really serve no purpose as far as I can tell. Just deal 3, 3, and 5 cards out and forget the name/letter thing.

Court Card Values

I am assuming minor cards eg 6 of cups = 6 and so on...
Major cards = number on the card?

Courts usually have a value of zero [0] since they are not numbered. Andother common way is;

Pages = 11
Knights = 12
Queens = 13
Kings = 14

There are many ways to give values to the court cards but I'm not allowed to send links to my web site so stick with 0 - it's easier. I have an entire web page on how you might assign values to the court card values. Email or PM me and ask for it.

As is - the name and letter thing is totally bogus - and needless. You don't need them so why use them? Combined with numerology this could be a very powerful spread and it's probably okay as it is but you are essentially just doing 3 different spreads with 3, 3, and 5 cards no matter if you have three letters in your name or a thousand.

But it's probably just fun to mess with the letters of folks names so hey - go for it.

People get so excited about the littlest things, LOL.

I was just re-reading this thread. I want to try it this weekend. I want to be sure I'm doing it right.

Lay out 1 card per letter in your name. So if you have a first name with 9 letters you will have 9 cards. Then divid evenly into Past/Present/Future. That would make cards 1,2,3 past / 4,5,6 present / 7,8,9 future and so on?

First name divid evenly into 3 sections-past/present/furture
middle name divid evenly into 3 sections-obsticals/self/allies
Last name divid evenly into 5 sections-body/mind/spirit/emotions/will

First name....XXX.. XXX....XXX
card...........1,2,3..4,5,6..7,8,9

Middle name...XX......XX.....XX
card...........10,11..12,13..14,15

Last name...XX......XX........XXX........XX......XX
card........16,17 ..18,19 ..20,21,22 ..23,24..25,26

In the middle name "self" is always one card with odd number of cards/letter
or 2 cards with even number of cards/letters.


To sum up the reading find your age card. You would start counting with card 1, go through and count each card. If your age is more then the cards laid out, you would start over again at the first card with 27 in the sample above and continue counting until you reach your age?
