The Aeon

Little Baron

Havn't even started to study this card yet and is one of the ones I have next to no knowledge about in the deck.

It is one of my favourites though; beautiful and great colours.

Any thoughts or points for discussion???

The Aeon has been a major thorn in my paw for many years now. Even though I've read the books, studied the meanings over and over and over again, this card still stumps me when it shows up. I can't seem to grasp the concept yet I guess, make it work within the context of a reading.

Zephyros

The final summation. All that you have been doing has led to this point. This is the moment where you say to the world "Here I am" and the world answers "And here is the sum of your causes and effects." Kind of like Judgement, but more serene, the morning after.

Horus is seated in the middle, and Harris says of him that is his hand is open and empty, as the old world has been destoyed and he has yet built a new one. He is surrounded by the goddess Nuit, symbloizing fertility, as yet unborn childeren.

A beautiful card, one of my favourites.

Parzival

As beautiful as it is esoterically symbolic.

"The Aeon or Angel or Last Judgement" (Harris)

"Aeon" is the Latin form of the Greek word Aion and
refers to an immeasurably long period of time, an Age.

In Gnosticism, especially as taught by the Valentinians,
an Aeon is one of the group of eternal beings that
together form the fullness of the supreme being from
whom they emanate and between whom and the world
they are intermediaries.

Of her illustration for this concept, Frieda Harris wrote
that the central figure, that of the child Horus, was the
"incarnation of the New Age." She also sub-titled this
card ~ Angel, or Last Judgement.

Valentinus and the Valentinian Tradition

The longing of the Aeons to know their origin leads inevitably to disaster.
Valentinian theologians expressed this through a myth in which Sophia,
the youngest Aeon becomes separated from her syzygy.

This fall leads to a disruption of the Name. According to Theodotus,
"The Aeon which desired to grasp that which is beyond knowledge
fell into ignorance and formlessness. Therefore he brought about a void
of knowledge which is a shadow of the Name, which is the Son, the form
of the Aeons. Thus the partial name of the Aeons is the loss of the Name"
(Excerpts of Theodotus 31:3-4).

This is the ultimate origin of the physical universe. The things in this
world were seen as separated from their name and existing in a state
of deficiency and ignorance.

the aeon

I have just received my new thoth tarot, and was imediately drawn to the aeon card. I feel as though i`m in the middle of a spiritual transition, like i`m being reborn.
Could this card be a lesson showing us, that, with positive visualisation of your inner being, you can let go of your insecurities and confusion and enter a new age.
The goddess knows where he`s gone wrong.
The card is telling you, dont face your left palm backwards, the left hand is for receiving energy. the right hand for giving energy.
Listen to your inner guide, and the gods will watch over you. It will soon manifest in the material world.
