I still think the connection Ross made is fundamentally correct because it fits with the card. As long the general theme of the "transmission of fire" is implied I don't think it really matters whether the transmitting agent looks like a fennel stalk, a torch, or even a box of Swan Vesta matches.

For all we know Harris and Crowley may have been trying out something different. If I were being really off the wall speculative I might draw attention to the passing similarity of the torch on this card with the one on the RWS Devil card.

YEAH !!! No but sure - it is interesting, and thanks for raising it. Ross raised the idea of the Prometheus link and I feel sure that is spot on. It was the fennel that interested me as an aside, and I had no idea about that !
