Well I went to my first Gnostic Mass

ceewayne

Not meaning to rhyme but it kicked ass. I have read the Mass many a time but to see it. Its beauty, its sensuality. It was wonderful. I was so excited I had trouble saying the Creed. And when I took the Sacrament, I had to keep reminding myself what I was to say afterwards. I was very nervous.

One wonderful thing, Yesterday was the Second Day of the Writing of the Book of the Law, while waiting for the temple to be set up, we all took turns reading from the second chapter. Again, there is poetry in that book.

Thanks for sharing ceewayne, I'd really like to attend a Gnostic Mass myself and see one in person. I recently saw a Rite of Jupiter, and even though it was just a few folks reading from the script and making it up as they go along in the backyard, I noticed and understood a lot of things I'd never got from just reading the directions. I'm thinking of buying some of the DVD version of the rites http://www.eleusyve.com/main.htm I know I've seen a short snippet from a Gnostic mass video somewhere, but can't find it right now.

In honor of the date yesterday I set up my altar at home similar to the one from the Gnostic Mass. For interested folks this OTO lodge has some good photos and some video of their temple on their site and you can see the Gnostic Mass set up.

It was a great Thelemic weekend here for sure...did you go to any of the local Lon Milo DuQuette events? I may have run into you :)

Gnostic Mass is a beautiful thing. I hope to attend one soon.
I have looked at the ones on Youtube and they are indeed powerful.
