Ellis decK - The Sun

Hemera

The companion book says that this woman is “the High Priestess, no longer a wolf.. clothed in feathers of the hawk.” That reminds me of Goddess Freyja who is a Sun Goddess and has a magical cloak of hawk feathers. She rides in a chariot drawn by felines, cats or lynx.
The face of the sun looks like a big lion. Maybe it is Sekhmet herself, another Sun Goddess from ancient Egypt that used to walk the earth disguised as a lioness. She was the warrior goddess as well as goddess of healing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sekhmet
The lion (male) is also shown in the Strength card with the serpent tail of healing. (So, lions and healing seems to unite these two cards.)

Some interpretations (from the companion book and the card):

* goodness, positivity, overriding negativity
* energy, renewal, vitality, growth
* optimism, success
* radiant beauty
* joy, happiness
* morning will always come at the end of every dark night
* sometimes also burn out, stress, draught

In your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest,
where no one sees you,
but sometimes I do,
and that sight becomes this art.
