"How To" Cleanse Gemstones?

Does it feel yucky, as if someone horrible wore it? If not, don't cleanse it. The beauty of old things is the energies and memories they carry on them, which you lose when you cleanse them - if you know how to cleanse effectively.

No the energy didn't feel yucky though I think wearing it did stir up my emotions. I'm hoping it's a good thing like a release of sorts.

I have some other stones coming to me, so what is your process? Do you just sit with it and see how it feels and if nothing negative comes up you just leave it be?
