Although I won't be trimming mine, I understand exactly,,,the first time I looked at them, it hit me right away that the borders did not seem to match the artwork. Like a stone set in the wrong kind of ring.

It didn't keep me from sitting there with my mouth hanging open, though. Her artwork is sublime, and the book is FANTABULOUS. I love the stories.

And to the Devil with it if anyone thinks I'm going to die leaving decks unused because they were rare or too pretty. :) It's like watching Antiques Roadshow,,,,when you see something pristine and untouched, it's cool. When it's actually been held, used and loved it takes on a whole other dimension of cool to me. It may not be worth as much, but is infinitely more fascinating.
