Books on developing intuition

CharlotteK

Hi,

Does anyone have recommendations for good books with exercises that can help me develop my intuition? I really want to work on this aspect to reading as i don't feel I'm all that connected to my inner voice much of the time. I saw this one on Amazon which had good reviews. Has anyone used it or got other suggestions?

Many thanks :)

Edit: sorry wrong link meant this one :https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/1582702403/ref=ya_st_dp_summary

I've not read that one but I like the title "Intuitive Way." It really is a way and an outlook on life. There are lots of ways to improve intuition and I could recommend any number of books and techniques that have helped me, but this might be a good opportunity to look inside and trust your inner voice. :)

Thanks for your reply Abrac, your suggestion made me smile ☺

I really found the book Psychic Tarot helpful, it's by Nancy Antenucci. Despite the title it isn't only about tarot, but rather aims to help you develop intuition and see syncronicity. :)

I second this one. Here is a copy on Amazon.com for sale

I would also recommend these 2 books, which I also find very helpful by Debra Lynne Katz-

1. You are Psychic and 2. Extraordinary Psychic

I have used all 3 of these books with great results! I've used some of the exercises in psychic circles also and they helped there tremendously as well!

Good Luck.

Thanks! Really helpful. I think the word 'psychic' has always been a little off-putting for me because I always assumed that was something you either were or weren't and equated it with a kind of mind-reading super power. I know better now 🙂

I have read several of these kinds of books. I liked You Are Psychic and found it helpful but most of these books are very similar... They all talk about the four clairs and so forth.

One that was very different was Your Inner GPS by Zen DeBrucke.

This is a short book which tells to how to access a specific kind of inner knowing.

The basic practice is (I am simplifying to give you an idea of what this is) to relax your mind using particular body-centered cues and ask a question. You check inside for a sensation somewhere between your throat and your stomach. There is a "closed" sensation and an "open" sensation. The first exercise helps you experience both of these and later there is another exercise to get better at apprehending the sensations.

The "closed" sensation means that your thought about the situation is incorrect or will not lead you in a good direction. The "open" sensation means your thought about the situation is correct and will lead you in a good direction. The author has several stories about how following this inner guidance system led her to unexpected benefits.

I tried the exercise before I read what the closed and open sensations are supposed to feel like and was amazed at how exactly the descriptions matched my sensations. It doesn't feel like anything woo or metaphysical because it is so concrete. The author says that many people spend too much time in their heads and we are taught to value and identify with thoughts rather than our bodies and the is why we don't usually pick up this guidance.

I haven't finished the book yet, not sure how much the sensations refer to reality as opposed to your thoughts about reality. The author seems to have had experiences where this guidance system led her to opportunities she couldn't have known about and helped her to evade difficulties she had no way of foreseeing. Very interesting book.
