hello, newby here. Mirroring. I did a search and nothing came up. The gist I get from reading this thread is that mirroring is taking "pairs" of cards, (whatever your personal system is) and reading those in relation to the "line"?

Think of a mirror image. Whatever card is the exact opposite in the spread (left to right and top to bottom) is a mirror.

For example, in a 9x4 spread, house 1 mirrors house 9 and and house 28; house 2 mirrors house 8 and house 29.

Houses: If you were to lay all the cards out in numerical order from 1 to 36 in 4 rows of 9, you have the houses:

01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09
10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18
19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27
28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36

In a short spread say a 5 card spread, mirroring is the same concept.

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5

Card 1 mirrors card 5, card 2 mirrors card 4, and card 3 is central to the spread, and thus has more weight.

Mirrored cards are read like combinations. If the heart mirrors the child, it refers to the love a child, childish behavior in relation to love, or making a new start in one's love life.

ahhh *ding* the light goes on...thankyou so much halil :D....so now I also understand "house"........... there is so little available on reading with Lenormand. Loads of blogs but very little "how to" stuff. :(

i use mirroring in 5+ spreads and even in GT's I do not mirror everything in the GT But only that which strikes me From 1-9, 2-8 etc. I also mirror collumns the 1st with the 4th and the 2nd with the 3rd if neccesary..

I do find it either comfirms or give more detail to the reading
Like it had been said earlier, for me as well, 5 cards give more acurate mirroring then with 9 cards in one line

i often mirror card 1 with 4+5 and this often makes much sense Just as 1,2 with the last card 5. For me this is just experimenting to see what makes sense, as well..

So in a 8x4+4 GT, the 6th card would be mirrored to the 3rd. But would it also be mirrored to the 30th or 36th card?

I think it would be the 3rd and 36th.

Ah! I asked halil about this yesterday, as a matter of fact, and she mirrors the top row to the fate line, leaving the 3rd row to only mirror in columns.

I thought it was the way you said it ... the other way works for her though ...
