Margaret Petersen http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/margarete-petersen/

And also the Sakki Sakki- though completely different in art, I can see where you could love it or hate it... http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/sakki-sakki/

And Gypsy Palace http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/gypsy-palace/ Again, the art may be there or not for you.

I love the Rohrig- so I get what you are talking about.

Prisma Visions http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/prisma-visions-tarot/

And Tyldwick also- http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/tyldwick/

And while I love the Pagan Otherworlds- it is pretty RWS in style for most of it- so not the same feel as the Rohrig.

And there is also the exquisite, exquisite Pagan Otherworlds. IMHO, it boasts the most atmospheric minors ever printed on cardstock.

I've considered the Pagan Otherworlds, but the price put me off for something I'm not likely to use a lot. I've kind of got my eye on the forthcoming new edition of the Rosetta, but I haven't checked its "RWS quotient" yet.

There is a really nice 1995 edition of Crystal Tarot on ebay right now for a great price. the borders are smaller, and the multi-linguals are also smaller. It's waaaay easier on the eyes.

Please buy it so I can't.

The Rosetta? Um, as "Tarot minus esoteric symbolism"? "RWS"? Are you sure we are talking about the same deck?

The Peteresen looks interesting; I would probably have to read with it the same way I do with the Voyager, although it's probably 80% less cluttered. The Prisma Visions caught my eye, too.

Sakki-Sakki is a bit too primitive-looking; Tyldwick is too brown and the Fountain is too photo-realistic. And if I considered the Gypsy Palace, I might as well go for the Tarot of the Four Elements - similar coloring with a more professionally-rendered "Aztec" theme.

Thanks for the ideas.

Heheh, I don't deal on eBay, so it's all yours! :D

I know very little about it at this time, so you're ahead of me there. I had the idea it isn't as dense with GD-style symbolism as the Tabula Mundi while still not an RWS clone. But what do I know? :)

Sure thing! I'd say that off all of them- even though it is different in presentation, feel-wise the Petersen reminds me more of the Rohrig than the rest. And weirdly, the Cosmic, but it is more structured (best way I can think to put it) than the others and more RWS-like. But it is cheap and so if you are looking for something to keep solid for others to shuffle- that would be an alternative as well.

Prisma Visions in feel was different- can't really explain it. It just doesn't have the same oomph that the Rohrig has. Trust me that I would love to find it's equivalent- that is a remarkable deck.
