My Yes/No Cards

Whoa, Nisaba! Mighty take on the can tarot answer yes/ no debate!
Admittedly I am guilty of finding out "the rest of the story" by only
seeing yes/no without further interpretation.
Excellent reminder that the answer is only as a good as the question.

I found this older thread recently and have found it VERY useful! However, just to further complicate the debate on yes/no questions, what if a "yes" card comes up reversed? is it then a "no" card? And vice versa?

Inspired by GoddessArtemis's thread, I thought I'd share my yes/no cards.

I don't often ask tarot yes/no questions - I tend to keep those for Lenormand. But it does happen, and I have programmed my cards to reply yes/no/uncertain.

I always try and frame a yes/no question as clearly, and as positively, as I can.

So for instance, if I'm wondering whether the company I contacted the other day will have a positive response, I will ask these kind of questions:

Will I get what I want from Company X?
Do I need to do anything else in order to obtain it?
(if the answer to that is "yes", I would then draw cards in a spread to see what I should do.)

I avoid questions like: Does the fact I've not heard from Company X mean they are not considering me?

It's not perfect, but it works far more often than not. Yes/ No questions act as clarifiers for me, they never replace full spreads to look at the ins and outs of a situation.

Will I hear from my ex again? yes or no

I have been thinking a lot about my relationship that ended a month ago. I broke up with him and miss him. I asked the cards what I needed to know about our relationship and the strength card came up as well as the sun. I am unclear if I need to strength to move on or if this is a positive omen.

So I decide to ask if I will hear from him again and I receive the King of wands followed by the world reversed and nine of cups. In my mind I will hear from him again but feel as though he will act and be the same as he always was and won't have room for improvement. Any ideas?

I have a rather nice rutilated quartz pendulum ...

To me cards want to talk about something, not say merely yes or no to it.

I use a smoky quartz pendulum for yes/no questions. As Nisaba said, my cards want to explain the yes or no.

I don't see Death as a 'Yes' at all! Or the Knight of Swords to be completely honest.

I see all the Pages as a 'Yes'

Queen of Pentacles should be a 'Yes' too, what's wrong with the op?

King and Queen of Swords should be 'Maybe', but them being a 'No' is understandable.

This is a great way to put to use my Marseilles deck, because it doesn´t have the pips drawed I don´t use it for complex readings, I´m still too new to know the meanings of all the pips just watching symbols.
