Sweet Twilight- Eight of Pentacles

turtlebite

his card was a head scratcher for me at first. The only thing that had meaning for me was the orangutan because it reminded me of stamps I used to get from the World Wildlife Federation when I was a kid.

The RWS 8 of Pents shows a man crafting pentacles. He works hard for his money. Here we have a girl looking very carefree with pentacles tossed around on the ground which reminded me of a poem:

My Wage

I bargained with Life for a penny,
And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store;

For Life is a just employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial's hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have gladly paid.

I think this card is, in part about having faith that whatever we need will be provided. I think this girl is not worried. She's not part of the rat race. She does what she loves and it is enough.

I think she has become fed up with making perfect pentacle after perfect pentacle, and is looking around to see what else there is to do.

I can be like this. It's why I love Tarot, I can't ever say "Right, I've done all that now."
