Hello
I'm in too.
I'll be using The Alchemical Tarot Renewned.
It will be my 2009 study and reflection deck, and I'll use it for reading for my self only.

I'll be using my blog. There is a link in my profile pointing at it. Allthough it's a dk-domain, I'm writing in English. Sometimes I'll post the reading/reflections in the Your Readings Forum, with a link in this thread. I'll try to read once a week, if circumstances permit. That will be during the weekends. Mostly just three card spreads.

I'm waiting for the new book to accompany the deck to be released. Until that I'll use the study group here at AT for reference, since I'm not into this deck, allthough I know a little tiny bit about alchemy.

Gazel

Thanks, KK - thought it better to ask - I'll email Karen.

This sounds perfect!

I want to make sure I understand though. We read with or reflect on the deck at least once per week. Readings can be for ourselves or others and can be posted in the Your Readings forum.

What about "reflections on the deck" though? Can we post those in the Your Readings forum?

I tend to always have one deck where, no matter what deck I use for a reading, I get out the cards of that chosen deck and look at them too. Right now it is the Thoth.

If I were to do this it would have to be either the Thoth or the Liber-T. I am also using the Babylonian Tarot quite a bit but am not sure it would be a good focus deck for a whole year. OTOH I've had more helpful and accurate readings with the Babylonian tarot than with the Thoth. So far, I've been using the Liber-T only for one card draws and study.

OK, I think I've got my blog up and running. I've only posted a one card draw for now, but want to do a larger one soon. This is going to be fun!!! And yes, I am using my Merryday deck for this study.

Presumably the reflection part comes after or during a particular reading. Just reply to your our Thread and provide you reflections there. I will keep track of your "Reflections" threads in Post #2 here.

I'll be using the Vieville...once it makes its way through the postal service and lands in my mailbox.

I'll work on rehab-ing an unused blog for PDR purposes and add the link to my profile homepage.

Those could be in Decks, a Study Group, or Using Tarot Cards depending on content. Suggest you keep a personal index of threads.

I'm a bit confused now - but that is not a strange feeling to me - so where should we keep that index - in this thread? That sort of makes sense - but I'm just asking to be sure.

Whenever you post a new Thread that involves any aspect of your PDR, just PM it to me and I will be happy to index it for you in Post #2, regardless of what Forum you post it in or where it gets moved to.

Okay. Thank you, KK.
I'll do that when I post here at AT. Otherwise as stated earlier I will primarly write at my Tarot Blog.
I have btw added the blogs from the profiles in post #2 to my Google reader so I can follow the blogs on a somewhat regular basis.

Just log out of My Yahoo! and you should stay connected.

Alternatively you can open up a different browser and you will not be logged into your My Yahoo! Page.

I would love to do this. I've been looking for a way to stay in touch with my primary reading deck now that I have more than one! (The holidays were good to me...)

I'll be using the Legend: Arthurian Tarot deck, and I'll be posting via threads here at AT. I know I have a blog posted in my profile, but I don't usually use it for tarot-related things.

Count me in for Rohrig. Putting a blog together as we speak.

On the thread note, I am guessing admin would be ok with posting many readings in a thread with the title "Year long Study" or something to that effect. A thread of this nature would be cohesive, and add to content here.
It might be worth asking.

KK... being a woman I changed my mind .... I will no doubt use the Anna K. tarot a lot as it's my new favorite, but my main focus deck this year will be the Lenormand.

Hope that's okay...

This is correct. Just try and make this commitment as soon as you can with your one deck.

You use your other decks as much as you want to, just being sure that thisi one you post about here is you primary deck.

I think Alta answered this earlier here:

Maybe you could use this thread to keep track of the reading threads, just a thought. Like, an index.

Thanks,

I can keep the index in Post #2. All I ask is either post a Link to each (weekly) reading here so I can update that Post regularly.

Could I just ask, is there any reason why this needs to be done in blogs? Why not on the forum in the various threads that are going to be indexed (as the IDS was)?
The blog thing is really putting me off - I know when I come to Aeclectic I want to stay on Aeclectic, not be diverted off around lots of different blogs.

Hi Sulis,

I thought blogging would be better for this exercise so that we could avoid input from others if that is what one wants. This way it is more like a diary ("reflections") than a "study" per se.

For those who want input I imagine they would want to post their readings in the Your Readings Forum.

ETA: In the spirit of the "one Deck Wonder" and "Intensive Deck Study" Threads I posted it in Talking Tarot and not Your Readings.

Hi K.k. I was wondering if i could post a study thread alongside my readings one. What id like to do is focus on one or two cards per week depending if i have enough time for two and then post my results in my thread. Sorry if this question has been answered before.

Hmm. I guess I have been a bit self contraditory. As to what I'll write where.
What I can say, is that I will write both here and on my blog. Approximately but not necessarily the same.

I think Alta answered this earlier here:

I can keep the index in Post #2. All I ask is either post a Link to each (weekly) reading here so I can update that Post regularly.

Well, she did and she didn't. She's telling the policy right now. I think there is simple potential for people in a year long study to post closed threads where no comments are invited, or open, and add to them as they like.

Perhaps the site real estate can be found in the study area instead of the "Your Readings" place.

Its just a thought and to be frank I'm benefitting from your blog position. It got me to do blogsettuphasslework I had been avoiding, very appropriate to a new year of study.

I've got my first attempt up this morning.

Dreamwalker, souljourney and Nina*, let me know what deck you are going to be using whenever you can.

Off to read some entries!
I'm going with the Pathfinder's Card. Wonderful animal oracle.

The blog thing is really putting me off - I know when I come to Aeclectic I want to stay on Aeclectic, not be diverted off around lots of different blogs.
I see what you mean. OTOH for myself, I'm sometimes going to want to write up a reading and sometimes going to want to write about how the cards make me feel or some information I've discovered about what they mean or what mythologies and stories they contain. It would be great to be able to do that all in one place. Sometimes I might start with part of a reading and move into reflection or study for the rest of that piece of writing. I would rather not have to worry about being off topic or making more work for the mods.

If there was a section of AT for "journals" where it wouldn't matter if it was a reading or a bit of study or some other kind of writing that would be different. One of the other forums I'm on has a section of blogs right there in the forum although not many use it.

For those who want input I imagine they would want to post their readings in the Your Readings Forum.

ETA: In the spirit of the "one Deck Wonder" and "Intensive Deck Study" Threads I posted it in Talking Tarot and not Your Readings.
Thanks K_K for explaining .

Hmm, I'm going to have to put a damper on this I'm afraid. Threads which are closed and no comments invited would make it more like a blog or a personal diary and not like a forum at all..
We've been asked about journal threads before and Solandia has said no - sorry.

That is an excellent idea. You can easily link the two by inserting the url address for your Study Thread in the Readings Thread you create (ETA) and vice versa.
