The image on the Universe card in the Thoth deck really sticks out to me.
To me, it's an image of creations. There are a variety of snake dieties in almost every culture.
(Wikipedia: snakes in mythology. Also http://www.bubu.co.uk/rainbow.html has a great article about the aboriginy Rainbow Snake. Very sexual, very powerful. Both male and female at times).
I think this card depicts the creation of the universe. It's a sexual act. The woman is the female energies while the man is the male energies, and they are coming together.
