"To All Believers"--early life of Pixie Smith

Silverkitten

Thank you Cerulean. I found all this information very fascinating. Loved being able to read the letter.

I'm with Lillie, it would be great to see a picture of her.

Blessings,
Donna

So far I think we have the following:

1. the order has been first academic collections of her art;

2. then two fansites with summary information and pictures.

3. I think the last area would be "merchant/retail sites" that have additional discussion or funfacts...I saw a facade site listed to Holly's that has a birthday tarot card and astrological chart link. It was rather brilliant and funny that the tarot card reading uses the Sola Busca tarocchi deck...(the rumor being "Pixie Pamela" was sent to or looked at samples of the Sola Busca at the museums to do her designs for the Rider-Waite-Smith deck).

Thanks for what we have so far.

Thank you Fulgour.

That is just what I was after seeing.

A picture says so much about a person, I think.

She looks so Pixieish as well. Lovely!

Hi Lillie,

I have this picture printed out and in a little
brass oval frame. Next to it is a shiny apple,
just a pretend one, but perfect for teacher.

Thank you so much for those links, Cerulean! It's wonderful to be able to see some of Pamela's other work - the drawings are beautiful :) .

An apple for teacher!
That's so sweet.

She looks so happy on the photo, dosn't she?
So many picture of that time (I assume it was early 20th Centuary) are so grim and serious.
I bet Waite never laughed on a photo in all his life!

Hi Lillie,

There's actually a picture of Arthur that I rather like,
a front on shot where he looks to be very engaging.
If I can find it I'll post a link. This one's a bit alright.

'allo Fulgour are you about?
I have been in touch with the big kahuna Library here to get some Waite books. Guess what? -nothing. Zilch. Zippo. Apart from The Sacred Library on line do you know of anywhere on the web I can read some more turgid stuff about him? I have made a commitment to be a little balanced so would like to read about the Occultist Master.( with dictionary of course) ~Rosanne

Pam would have recognised this pic

Hi Rosanne: This link has the picture I was thinking about,
with a very charming young Arthur, and links to writings:

Cerulean (and others) have posted this link before, so we're
technically almost keeping on topic here. Imagine a young
Pamela Colman Smith being intrigued by such a gentleman?
