I bought the Book of Thoth a couple of years ago, when I was first getting into tarot and had gotten the Thoth deck as one of my first few decks, and I was completely overwhelmed by the deck and the book. It looked like a bunch of hokus-pokus and it made little sense. But lately I've been taking another look at it and I'm actually beginning to feel like I'm getting it just a little bit. This is after listening to all the episodes of Texas Tarot, which compares the cards from the Waite and Thoth decks. I wasn't interested in Thoth when I first started listening, but it has grown on me. Now I study at least one of the Thoth cards nearly every day. I can't read with the deck yet, but I'm enjoying it as a study deck. I'm patiently waiting for the moment when I'll wake up one day and realize that my diligence has paid off!
