Yes. Probably of the "children and box of matches" variety.

Some people seem to miss the fact that Thelema is the next step after Osirian religion. In a way it's comparable to a child leaving the family nest. Suddenly the constraints of parental restriction are gone. But it is hoped that the child has learnt some of the parental lessons that will allow it flourish on it's own two feet.

The idiots idea of Thelema is like the kid who leaves home without adequate preparation. The new found sense of freedom is too much too soon. So off he goes and blows all his money, parties day and night, and does anything and everything he wants. And then reality bites back. And little Johny has to go home with his tail between his legs and live with mum and dad again, under their rules.

In essence this the warning that Crowley gives in his chapter on the Hanged Man card.

This card is beautiful is a strange, immemorial, moribund manner. It is the card of the Dying God; it's importance in the present pack is merely that of the Cenotaph. It says: "If ever things get bad like that again, in the new Dark Ages which appear to threaten, this is the way to put things right." Hmmm ... sounds like Western culture ... except the bite hasnt really come yet ... just a warning nip.

(In case thats too obscure I'm talking about our modern treatment of environment and resources - it has been estimated that a 'cheap' Big Mac has a real cost of several hundred dollars considering all the hidden expenses, transport pollution, environmental destruction, etc. Except (perhaps) 'WE" wont be going home to live under restriction with our tail between our legs, we'll make those who are more oppressed and those yet to come pay for it.)
