Etruscan tarot: 9 of wands

poopsie

Description in booklet: A warrior armed for war is patrolling and ready to defend.

The character of the wands changes to a real warrior - one ready to fight. In the earlier cards, we witness a man who takes on an idea, puts it into execution and reaps the harvest of his efforts. He celebrates life through music but has also been faced with challenges- fights and internal and external struggles. While he is able to reward and recognize, and share the fruits, he starts all over again to rekindle the energy and put it into more concrete form. By the 9th card, he now becomes a warrior -- ready to defend, armed to the teeth with shield, spear and helmet - this time, he will surely defend.

Surrounding him is a fence of wands which can serve as both his protection as well as possible weapon of defense or offense.

The 9 of wands is symbolic of a person who has been through both the joys and pains of life, been there-done that type and has developed a character of his own -- he has managed to move his energy and transform it into concrete results, but not without difficulty and challenges.

Energy in the beginning was raw, but as we get to the 9th card, the energy now turns more "hardened" and sturdier, coupled with defense, vigilance, and if need be, strategy. There is a renewed determination to preserve what has already been gained and earned, and to defend this to the hilt.

While there is the anticipation of threat that there may be hurdles to encounter once again, this time, our character appears more ready and more proactive -- whereas before, we viewed him as struggling and even with the possibility of losing, this time, he is more proactive -- moving around in vigilance to already pose a deterrent to those who may get from him what is not rightfully theirs.

When we draw of 9 of Wands of the Etruscan, we can reflect on the following questions:

a. What are we guarding ourselves against?
b. Do we have enough reinforcements and support who can help us in case we encounter new challenges and battles once again?
c. What lessons have we learned that we can use so that we can prevent hurting others and ourselves in the process of defending ourselves?
d. Since we have gotten to the pinnacle of our achievement, shouldn't we also be planning new ideas, sparking new energies so that we do not stay fixated in defending what we already have?
e. How can we encourage ourselves to spark new ideas and new interests so that we can start new endeavors of fulfillment once again?

Yeah, the man look more mature than those on the other previous cards. He knows more and is well armored to do his patrol. He seems to be alert too, focused on his job.
