TotOP - Ace of Pentacles

Ace of Pentacles

The Suit of Pentacles represents Earth and Spring in this deck.

The Ace of Pentacles is the most illustrated of all the Aces. In the centre is a table with a large pentacle in the centre. On the four corners are animals horns. The table sits in a spring meadow, with trefoil clover (divine knowledge gained through hard work) and buttercups (riches). Behind the table is a path which leads to a castle, perhaps representing the stability of this suit. Before the table sits an alert hare, an animal associated with the Goddess. On the far horizon grow three poplar trees, again symbolising the Triple Goddess.

Just wondering why the pentagram has red on it - perhaps relating to blood and sweat that will accompany the work needed for the suit of pentacles?

I would have to agree about the blood on the pentacle. The book says nothing about it, but another tidbit: the castle represents material wealth, and the path and stairs connect spiritual to the material world.
