Don't mind chiming in on an old thread that seems to have a steady flow of life since its beginning 
Learning the Thoth for me has capitalised on a more in depth knowledge of a past mediocre insight of the Tarot in general, as well as Gematria, the Qabalah, and Astrology. With it I became aware of the Golden Dawn blinds that I was in the dark about prior, a better understanding of the Book of the Law, and a true acknowledgement of being in the Aeon of Horus. Chiming in on some of Lon Milo DeQuette's words, I know I'll never fully understand the Thoth, but won't cease in re-reading The Book of Thoth until it falls apart in my hand, giving good reason to seek out another in the quest to learn more.
