Well then the followings are 300dpi scanned Occult Review RWS drawings.

The Magician http://www.elfindog.sakura.ne.jp/RWS1909or01.jpg
The High Priestess http://www.elfindog.sakura.ne.jp/orRWS02.jpg

Eight of Pentacles http://www.elfindog.sakura.ne.jp/OR1909dcmTarotP8.jpg
Court Cards http://www.elfindog.sakura.ne.jp/OR1909dcmTarot02.jpg

A.E. Waite wrote in the accompanying article that the four Trump images were "taken direct from the drawings". 8 of pentacles image has a caption "Actual size of the Cards", but it's slightly bigger.

I hope these images will shed much light on the RWS research.

Nice! You can see ol' snake eyes on the colorless image (The Magician) more clearly :)

Same goes for the fish on the Queen of Cups :)

And the birds on the Knight of Swords :)

Thanks for posting these, Roppo! Those are great. And they are so clearly the line art from the Pam-A and R&L decks.

I noticed something when I looked at the Sun card. The wrong number is actually going over the lines of one of the sun rays. So I would definately say that the number was added later. But is it my imagination or is the black ink from the extra sun Ray (the one that always has so much discussion) just as thick as the numeral? It looks like that to me.

If so, a thought occured. Could it be that this line was not on the original and added when they added the numeral. To make it appear like the sun rays would continue under the numeral. Just a thought. The ink just seems thicker then on the other rays.

And edited to say: I looked again. The ray actually is as thick in ink as the Sun itself. Maybe that has some significant meaning if it wasn't added like I said above. Still questions....

Is there supposed to be a symbol hidden in The Fool's robe? All I see is some funny looking heart shaped squiggle.

Magnified the lines look like a wood block print? Would that be right???

I believe Pamela Colman Smith was using bamboo or reed pen.

Anyway just by looking the RWS drawings, you can understand these are not the blowing up s from the actual cards or printing stones.
