Pistis Sophia: The Goddess Tarot

HighPriestess

Is anyone else watching this deck's progress?
For those who aren't aware, this is meant to be a companion deck to "Sol Invictus: The God Tarot".

Here is the facebook page for the deck (all content is public)

You can see some of the cards they've completed so far.
I have a growing collection of goddess decks, so I'll definitely be picking this one up even though I don't have Sol Invictus.

Thanks, I checked out the site. Looks interesting.

I will be watching it now. It looks like an interesting deck. Thanks for telling us about it.

Oh my, I will definitely be adding this to my wishlist - thank you! Do they have a site of their own, do you know? (I can always google, of course.)

They're clearly branching out from strictly goddesses, but I think Grace O'Malley makes a fabulous Queen Coins! :D

I think they're going to put a website up when the deck is finished (they're just a little over halfway done) but right now they appear to be putting images of the completed cards on facebook.

Probably my age being cranky, but every single one of them looks 18 years old. There isn't any character in their faces, no lines, no anything I would expect in a lively interesting historical Goddess. The reason they are popular is they led big long lives. Pre-Goddess might be a better name for this deck.

I just got the Sol Invictus, so I'll be buying the Pistis Sophia as the proper companion deck. :) Looks nice.

Chiriku,

We do now have a website for Pistis Sophia (as of this week!) where you can see all the cards and read extracts from the companion book. We also have a blog there.

Any feedback on the deck and site is appreciated :)
Kiama, if you're not going with Schiffer, please try to make the Pistis the same size as the Sol Invictus. I would LOVE to use both decks together as a double deck. Gonna take a look at the website later.

I have to agree with AJ. Although I like the premise of this deck, every "goddess" looking exactly the same in the face no matter what the cultural/ethnic background and looking 18 even if they are shown with gray hair. It just makes no sense. This should be called the "Maidens Deck" or the "Sophia Deck" as there are no true Mothers or Crones, and certainly no "Pistis Sophias", represented.

For those (like me) who refuse to use Facebook...I found the deck images on Kim Huggens' flickr account for her tarot blog...

Aren't the looks of a Goddesses able to change or remain however they feel like it?
