Specialty makers of historical decks

whipsilk

At the request of another member, I've decided to make this list more comprehensive, and notate all specialty (i.e. non-commercial) makers of historical decks. Please feel free to add a post if you know of someone I've overlooked.

I've been on a historical kick recently, and discovered that there are a number of small cardmakers (mostly French) creating beautifully restored or reproduced historical decks. Their web sites are scattered throughout this and other threads. I thought it might be helpful to put them all in one place. I'm linking to the home page, in English if it exists. Historical background pages and shops are available as links from these pages.

Thanks to Yves Reynaud (aka Yves Le Marseillais) for some corrections and updates.

Jean-Claude Flornoy (France) - currently available decks include the Dodal, the Noblet, and the Vieville:

I dare to add my website in this list's margins :
http://www.tarotparis.com/triomphes-de-paris-original/
not a reproduction of an historical deck per se, but an historical approach using XVIIth century cardmakers tools and methods.
I just realized I didn't mention it in this part of the forum.

Thanks Whipsilk for this thread. I've developed an interest in historical packs too & recently acquired the Tarot of Pierre Madenie 1709 facsimile from Yves Reynaud. It's interesting meditating on the cards & comparing them to my CBD. There is just something about the antique packs that draw me to them.

The ghost images on some of the cards adds a wonderful effect.

Has anyone had any success ordering Igor's decks?

I would like to get some, but his webpage links to his eBay listings and it says that shipping outside of France is not specified.

If anyone has purchased any of these decks, was it through Ebay or was it another way?

oh my goodness, how did I miss these decks? How can we order them? I'm in Europe but, like Garmonbozia says, shipping seems limited to France
