tarot and the matrix

i watched the matrix reloaded a little while ago. did anyone else ever get the impression that using tarot is kinda like hacking the matrix?
i saw this episode of the simpsons where grandpa dies and his ghost goes into this love rating machine. then he starts helping mo by telling him how to be with this chick. the bullies, who i think symbolize human ignorance or maybe providence, destroy the machine so it doesnt work.
what are everybodies thoughts on this?
