The Primary Deck Reflections 2009 Sign-up & Discussion Thread

firecatpickles

When I was doing my "Intensive Deck Study," I found that I was less likely to do readings when I limited myself to just one deck. I also considered doing a "Deck o' the Month" study, but thought I would have the same issues there. I cannot be alone in being turned off by this: I love all my decks and I want to give them all the attention they deserve. I mean, really, why else did I buy all of them? To collect dust? No.

Then someone turned me on to a "Primary Deck Reflections" activity that seemed to be the most attractive.

This is a bit different from the other studies that involve one deck. In this one, as it is a "Reflections" and not "Study" per se, one is free to use whatever deck(s) they wish, as long as they commit to reflect at least once a week on the primary deck of their choice.

As this is a group activity, it is preferable that you have a blog or open a Thread here for the specific purpose of sharing with us your personal insights with your deck. As some of our participants may not be Subscribers, could you please post your Threads in the "Your Readings" Forum instead of the "Personal Readings & Exchanges" Forum, thank you.

I will reserve the second post in this Thread for a list of participants.

This is also a year-long activity. Of course you are free to change your PDR deck as much as you want, and you are also free to use any of your other decks as much as you want. We do expect a commitment for 2009.

So, come on, what are you afraid of? Join in on the fun :)

Did you read the first post? I thought I explained it pretty clearly...

Ok, I will outline it, then:

  1. Use whatever decks you wish as long as you have a main deck with which you read and post, at least once a week.
  2. Have a blog or open a Thread here for the specific purpose of sharing with us your personal insights with your deck.
  3. Commit to reflecting with this one deck as a year-long activity.
  4. You are free to change your PDR deck as much as you want until you find a deck that agrees with you.

You must be a teacher in real life...this sounds very teacher-ish. :)
Thanks for clarifying it into a few steps.

You got it in one lark!!! Yes, KK is a teacher!

And I think I might want to join in with this. hmmm....need to go figure out which deck to be my primary though. Will be back later when I decide.

This is really nice KK. I never could commit to a IDS because I use different decks for different things. But this I can do. Sounds great. I'll be back later with my decision.

Yes I am :) Maybe I am practicing for the students returning on Tuesday.

Are you two in or not?

NorthernTigress

I once got in trouble once in the Readings section when I did two readings in the same thread. Have you gotten an okay from the mods for these "year worth of readings" threads?

firecatpickles

Hmmm. I think it should be okay since it is one study-reading activity, but I am not a moderator.

Then again, it may be better to start a blog for your readings.

I don't know you sound kind of strict....I'm scared.

I'm thinking about it I'm finally going to go through the whole meditation exercise with Tarot of the Spirit.
Had this deck for years and now it just seems like I'm ready to work with it.
If it doesn't pan out it's "out damn spot" for this deck...so I'm still waffling.
It's so hard...when you have so many decks...there are others I certainly love more and would rather spend the time with...but this one keeps calling my name.
I'm still undecided.
