Art deco/Pre-Raphaelite/Victorian decks

HearthCricket

I was wondering what decks you consider as falling into this category? I know the Harmonious will, as perhaps does the Aquarian, Art Nouveau, Victoria Regina, but what else would? This seems to be my favourite time period and style. I would love a William Morris deck!

Hm, waht about the Wiliam Blake Tarot?

As for oracle decks there is the Art nouveau adaption of Gypsy cards available.

Hi HearthCricket :)

Ah, you've named so many good ones. I'm hard pressed at the moment to think of other tarot decks in that category, but you might like the Art Deco Fortune Telling cards. I have this deck and absolutely adore it. Here's a link:

It is also available in the U.S. from House of Tarot, I believe.

The Spiral Tarot has some Victorian cards in the minors.

Here's the PreRaphaelite discussion topic...a new one is named

by Jeannette that has my fancy. Im enjoying the idea so much, you might be on the lookout next year...

Here's the thread on art deco:

I think everyone decided that the only one deck that I suggested that was 'art deco' of the time would be the republished Alan Tarocco--but you may not be someone who wants French suit symbols as workable for themselves.

I think the above two links might be helpful for ideas, at least your wishlist, perhaps?

Best regards,

P.S. I'm bookmarking this thread in hopes others come up with full-picture 78 card decks with this style. I've some romantic styled decks that might fall into this Art Deco-PreRaphaelite and Victorian category, but their plain pips or rather modern additions make them not like the ones you suggested in your first post.

Well, the Holy Tarot looks hopeful, but I just would love an entire deck with images from the Pre-Raphaelites, and backs with a William Morris design! How fun would that be??!

@Annabelle
Thanks for the link, that's just the deck I was talking about.
