5 of Pentacles as how each of them feel (relationship)

If it's the RW your reading with, then if you take a look at the figures in the card, they are not helping each other, there is no interaction with each other....ones even walking in front of the other causing physical distance also.

The one with crutches is getting no support or helping hand...especially to be using his crutches in the snow. If these two were in love would the lady not be carrying him or even putting an arm around him to try and give him some warmth ?

There's distance, silence, and just a general feeling of numbness of emotion, as being as cold as they look in the picture, i'm sure would make you feel numb with the extent of this snowy cold weather.

But also remember this card follows on from the 4 coins, so this feeling could be taking place after a time of one of them blocking the other one out and not allowing the other one in...for whatever reason this would be.

Or maybe neither of them has the courage to go out into the cold alone.

Yeah, that makes sense. Distance, the coldness not only in the surroundings, but maybe in the parties as well, travelling on what looks like the same path, but very separately. And following on from the 4 of pents, where one guarding their own belongings (metaphorical, probably), makes sense too.
