The Wildwood & Shuffling Stubborn Decks

Checking the obvious just in case... you're both talking about the transparent and not the universal transparent? Have often wondered how the Transparent will shuffle while I'm poised over the buy button.
Emily Carding's deck, not the LoS one.

It's definitely varnishy decks that cause me gyp... my waterproof (plastic) seven stars deck is so delicious it makes even MY shuffling look casino worthy :D

Yep. If you've got another plastic deck that works well for you you probably won't have trouble? idunno.

Quite possible. I'm in Northern California and humidity is the exception here. (Born and raised on the East coast though.)

One other thing that just popped out of my memory is that the cards had a glaze on them when they first came out of the packaging. I took the time to wipe down each card front and back with a soft cloth to remove that glaze. Don't know if you did that or if that plays any part in why you're having shuffling issues and I don't.

Yep, did that first thing hoping it would make them stick less. Helped by about 50%, so it definitely did something.

I looked at some of the tricks for breaking them in and I think this was for a very specific Fournier deck so perhaps it is only for that deck but it mentioned fanning powder as a negative.

Apparently the deck has a varnish and they even showed that you could clean the cards by dipping them in water.

Just mentioning it after my icky feeling with whatever powder is on the Renaissance one. Maybe it isn't suitable for every deck?

If I get around to it, I will probably try it on that Tarot of Affirmations because it hardly budges the way it is. I am not even sure it would "smoosh." I could likely drop it and most of them would stick together..

My Wildwood shuffles just fine. It's things like the Celestial and the Radiant Waite that are bad stickers.

Just get some unscented talc (or scented, if you can stand the smell) and powder them. then they stop sticking for years.
