So, what do i pick, the Durer or the Bruegel?
And don't say both, because I have like four others already chosen!

Noooo! Why do they do this too me? Can't they see that I am POOR! lol. Poor! *But*, my mind says *You will SAVE money if you buy them now because you want to buy them anyway*... arg! I've bought... three tarot decks in the past month or two, and I want to preorder atleast one more... and now this! I'm definatly going to get the Ancient Italians and the Lombardy ones, and I might pick up the durer maybe... And I can "justify" all this because I am getting a tax return check soon... But really, I'm very poor, I have no job and need one, there are bills comming out of my ears, but TAROT DECKS! Must get!

They have several very good decks, a couple that I own that I think VERY worth $5!!...

The "Ancient Italian Tarots" is a steal, a Tarot of Marseille style/family deck created in Italy:

The "Ancient Tarot of Lombardy" is one of my FAVORITE historical decks. It is simply gorgeous, and delicate, and elegant.. by Ferndinado Gumppenberg:

The "Classic Tarot" is very similar to the Ancient Italian, Engravings by C. Della Rocca Printed by F. Gumppenberg Milan, 1835. :

Their "Tarots of Marseille" is based on the Claude Burdel design - Schaffhouse, 1751. I believe this is the same design that the new "Universal Tarot of Marseille" is based on.

Then there are a couple of "modern" decks that I like a lot..

The "Giotto Tarot" is done in the style of the great artist Giotto di Bondone, with very subdued colors and interesting choices for the images:

The "Liber T: Tarot of Stars Eternal" is an update to the Crowley Thoth, created by the same designer who made the "Dante Tarot", a somewhat softened, but very lovely Thoth-style deck for Thoth collectors or those who might want a less.. um.. "confrontational" Thoth deck.

But you know.. there are several decks that are tempting, that I wouldn't consider if they weren't such a great deal, that I have never heard of before...

Cards of Nostradamus - I love the fact that they are based on the illustrations of Cesare Ripa, these are a great find:

Hindu Oracle of Awakening - Looks very interesting:

Marseille Oracle Cards - Wow, probably very odd but it DOES have the word "Marseille" in it! ;)

Paracelso Oracle Cards - These look really interesting, I've never heard of him, but the cards are beautiful and fascinating.

For a $5 investment, I can't imagine not picking up a couple of these wonderful decks.

PS.. there are other great decks there too.. I just don't have them or have an interest in them (yet... I can be convinced.. hee hee).

Uh, Robert, did you even mention the Bruegel or the Durer?
Not on your radar huh?

I'm acutally interested in the Success Oracle as well. It has been on my wish list since the last five dollar sale by Llewellyn.

Yes, the five dollar sale is certainly irresistible. But you can try.

goddesscarlie

can anyone tell me how often these sales last, how often they occur (I seem to remember one not too long ago??) and if relitively the same decks are on the sale? It's just that I really want to pre order the victorian romantic deck, so I think these ones will have to be sacrificed for now :( So will there be another sale??

Hey elf (HI!),
Honestly, I have the Bruegel and kind of hate it, and I don't think the Durer looks all that interesting.. but that's just me, and I didn't want to put a downer on decks that others (including you) might love.

You asked.. I tell.

great to see you sweetie,
robert

Scion

Booyah!!

I just bought a stack of Liber T's for gifts and spares... and a few others.

Nydia

Thanks for posting about this sale! I bought two decks, the Liber T and the Durer. I would've bought the Bruegel, but I already have it.

Elf, between the Durer and Bruegel, I would choose the Bruegel first because there are alot of weird details in it. Look at all the scans you can find, though.

Abrac

Just added the Tarots of Marseilles (Burdel) to my collection. I had been playing with the idea for a while. The $5 price tag sealed the deal. :D

Thanks le pendu!
