Halloween Tarot - 4 of Bats

So this card is a good depiction of the standard 4 of swords. The need for rest is quite evident as it's night time and the moon is peeking in the window. Even the cat seems to be resting.

What I can't figure out is the significance of the figure having the head of a pumpkin.

Do you think there is any symbolism there, or is it just a pumpkin headed guy getting some rest?

Well, the phrase "out of one's gourd " does come to mind. He also wears armor. I would say he just needs to just rest and clear his head (maybe or maybe not literally, he does have a pumpkin for a head) so he can fight another day.
