I think these decks are good for children
My daughter has her own copy of the mini-sized Hanson-Roberts, just the right size for small hands (she's five). She started with the pocket Universal Waite, another great size.
My little one also has their own deck. {Asked for it when they were 4}. It is a pocket sized Rider-Waite. We also have a pocket sized Universal Waite. Those are perfect for their hands and they have their very own special cases. Also happened to get Mommy's blue padded TarotTotes bag.
Easy to get in and out of by themself.
They also read the cards with Mommy. At first, it started with just looking at them. Then saying what their favorites were. They also would tell me which ones I should avoid, etc. It was cute.
Now, they look at the card picture and does a great job of saying what they are. We've talked about relaxing and saying what comes when they look at the picture. Usually just one or two cards as I'm afraid anything else would be overwhelming or bore them. I'm not teaching the book meanings as they seem to already get the meanings.
I also like that they know to treat the cards well, always put them away when they are finished reading, etc.
