Marseille-style tarot with illustrated minor arcana?

roppo

In 1973 a strange tarot appeared in Japan. Now generally called "Keishobou Tarot", it has an atmosphere of Marseille woodcut, but its design obviously comes from RWS, with all illustrated minor arcanas. You can see the major arcanas in Kaplan Encyclopedia IV, p.643. The deck was sold with book wrtten by Nakai Isao.

1973 was the year Japan first experieced the wake of Western Occult Explosion; many strange things happened, you know!

Hi lupus3

I don't know of any decks like that really, but it's an interesting idea.

You might want to look at the recreations of the Jean Noblet and Jean Dodal decks by Jean-Claude Flornoy.
