How do you store your rocks and crystals?

linnie

I forgot to say that as I have untold crystals, them and I being friends for all my life, I have them on desktops or other tables throughout the house on large brass platters or etc... I've read somewhere that crystals don't like being put together, but mine say they are happy this way :) They get fresh air, light, and as they are all in one (or four) large waterproof platters, I carry the whole thing outside so they all get moon-beamed or rained on or rainbowed or etc, needing only to remove the dissolvable ones like selenite... a very easy way to give them all a delicious cleanse with little effort. :D

I'd just like to add that most of the crystals in my house are very cosily wrapped... in dust.

Mind you, so is everything else so don't think it's favouritism. :D

I have a few, not many, that called to me over the last decade(ish?), and otherwise those that are here were left behind by my ex. I gave away any I didn't like but most are still around, as I did like them.

I do have one lovely little holder... I'll have to get a pic...

just found this fancy drawer jewelry case that would be a great crystal storage...but it isn't cheap. Neat though, you can buy the drawer organizers in whatever size spaces you like.

Oh my goodness that looks nice! Are the trays deep enough though? Are they meant only for watches?

I honestly think that it's a little silly to say crystals want to be in wide open air all the time and/or not near other crystals. For one thing, I'm not in the camp that they're their own little sentient entities (creepy!)...though I do get that ancient items of the earth with their own vibrations has a "their own little entities" aspect to them I suppose! Secondly, many crystals are blended with other crystals and are valued for being so, so that doesn't make sense (?). I'm thinking (I think) of azurite with malachite in particular. And C, ;) I feel like they can pick up all kinds of energy being out and about or sorta lose their "powers" as they take on all the passing energies whereas pulling them out of a treasure box or drawer or what have you is like introducing a "fresh" crystal to the environment - filled and bursting, ready to go. :) But the same 'make it fit' arguments can be made the other way, too. I have a couple of larger towers/generators that I keep out - not to mention the amethyst cathedral I now have - and I'm sure I assign some convenient story to them as well. Let's see... okay they're like the royalty and they lord over the others, having the right to sit atop a table, watching over everything?? Okay that's getting creepy again...

I have most of my gemstones in a Crown Royal bag in my tarot drawer along with some snake skins and incense. I have a few for creative purposes in a little soy sauce dish I got some time ago, they sit at my desk with a fake candle from my wedding. Then I had two romance/love type stones in a Buddha offering dish my husband has in our bedroom, but just recently moved them to a box with my Love Tarot cards. I know I have what I think is turquoise (possibly dyed howlite...) in my co-workers desk so I can try and help her through the day even though I quit. lol

But I LOVE the origami boxes! my mom saved all my origami paper from my eighteenth birthday party and now seven years later it has a purpose.

I just found a BUTTload of origami paper in my kids' arts and crafts supplies!! Hmmm!

What Padma said... They really need to get out and see and feel the sunshine and moonlight, a rain shower (not dissolvable ones), lightning etc... it charges the beautiful things up so they don't lose their sparkle :)

Does it count if we bring ours (that have been put to bed) out for full moon bathings or sunnings or when we use them or open drawers and leave drawers open for a while as I sometimes do?? It's funny how I so intuitively feel the opposite about leaving them out too long (like their batteries will get drained or they'll lose their 'specialness' if seen all the time...with exceptions to the rule of course (big crystals or specially assigned smaller ones). Why is that I wonder!?

Sorry I keep posting in separate posts! Just want to say that I stupidly forgot that I DO keep some of my palm stones out - not tucked away in drawers! I have a pottery barn "Addison" (discontinued) tall candle holder (clear glass, somewhat ornate) that has a round glass tray wrapping around it about halfway down. Anyway the tray holds all my smooth polished palm stones and hearts etc. I also have another one that's taller and a bit more ornate - of the same series - that sits sorta behind the one with the tray. Together they make a nice set. I've had them for 3 or 4 years now, sitting on a vintage or antique wash table with drawers, in my bedroom. But I really wanted something more along the lines of an altar so that's what it is now. It has a couple of crystal towers on top and my amethyst cathedral cluster, along with a round mirror and wooden crystal grid sitting on top, then a couple of drawers filled with tarot cards, sage and sea shell etc and cluster crystals and specimens (and below there's a cupboard that has all my tarot and crystal books in it.

Oh - just found an online pic of the candle holder with tray:

And here it is with fruit on it:

I'll eventually post pics of the altar with candle holders/crystals.

Another thought I had...something that would look pretty nice...would be to use one of those tiered cake or candy holders or stands or pedestal dishes etc. Examples:

This is the holder I have - the only dedicated one I use, though I have one or two sitting on glass coasters (and one mirrored coaster, which may in fact be a handbag mirror ;)) - https://estore-sslserver.eu/spiritw...-aaa68185dc29/Products/SS-HAN-SMALL__27-UC-EB (I have this smaller one and they do a larger). It's made of plaster or something, feels chalky and very "unfinished natural" which I like. I'll get a photo of my crystal being held in it, if I remember when I'm upstairs. :)

I don't store mine; they just stay out. And they're taking over...I have so many crystals, and I haven't figured out what half of them want with me, if that.

Ahhh, letterpress drawer, yes!

and I just did a google search...found this...exactly (almost) as you described! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/545991154806732499/
That's exactly the one I have... or as close as... I did put a pic of it here somewhere years ago... will track it down...

Of course the occasional moonlighting, sunbathing will help! I leave mine out as in around the household and not in drawers, and then just rest them a bit outside for a day in my labyrinth or on the steps where sun or moon beams at them... or rain... :) They actually love being recharged, and when you get a new pone from a shop or as a gift its almost a given that they should be 'cleansed' out in the sun, rain etc to clear old vibes from them... or that's what I believe... picture the black stones and others that absorb negative energy... I'd want them cleared before I start hugging them too much :D

I love your idea PW, but mine are just scattered and I challenge my brain to remember them.. It's good for the brain... :D

Laura, I believe that large one with the green dot is mooakite... an Australian jasper... very good for stomach issues amongst other things :)

Oooh! Lots of cool idea! I love the idea of an apothecary cabinet or a jewelry chest. Mine are just in a Home Depot box with snap shut pull out trays. I rotate my crystals monthly-ish around my house. Kind of a tangible prayer.
