Hi,

I'm wondering if anybody's come across a good book or website detailing the symbolism of the Universal Waite tarot?

Waite's _Pictorial Key to the Tarot_

As, in general terms, the numbered minor arcana images of the RWS illustrate Golden Dawn divinatory meanings and some extent, Etteilla divinatory meanings, the following publication on GD divinatory meanings is useful and listings of Etteilla meanings can be useful as well:

Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn's _Book T_
(A pamphlet found in Golden Dawn compendiums)
http://www.the-equinox.org/vol1/no8/eqi08016.html

Etteilla divinatory meanings for the numbered minor arcana:

Hulse's _Western Mysteries_ (approximate title) elaborates on the symbolism of the Rider deck as a Golden Dawn inspired deck.

For a "the-meanings-for-the-Rider-deck-minor-arcana-have-dropped-out-of-the-sky-and-have-nothing-to-do-with-the-Golden-Dawn-or-Etteilla-it's-enough-to-look-at-the-picture-and-make-up-your-own-meaning" approach, many swear by Rachel Pollack's tomes. In this regard, there is also _Spiritual Tarot_ by Sandra Thompson et al.
