I forget from year to year --

Red Emma

I forget from year to year how one identifies their 'year card.'

My husband's birthday is March 7, so I did the following: 3 + 7 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 7. This result is 19, or the moon. He's so practical, down to earth, I'll-believe-it-when-I-see-it, it's hard to understand how he could ever relate to the moon.

Did I use the wrong forumula?

Sweet Irish Angel

is this card no 1, coz you have to add the 1+9=10 and 1+0=1

so his number is 1

well thats how i do it

Wildfyre

I always break it down further so that 19 would be 1+9, which becomes 10, which further becomes 1+0.

So I would see that as number 1.

Forgetting

If one breaks down all double numbers, then how does one ever get to the Major cards of 10 and up?

Sweet Irish Angel

Hey )

ive only ever done it as single numbers, see if no 1 relatesmore to him

AprilFool

Clarification, please?

So does that mean there can be no card less than 1 or greater than 9 (in other words no card will be the resulting card past IX "The Hermit"?

I somehow thought you stopped as soon as you got to a number that is included in the Majors (ie through XXI-The World)? If not, then no one would "get" these later cards (not to mention #0 The Fool):

10-Wheel

11-Justice (or Strength)

12-Hanged Man

13-Death

14-Temperance

15-Devil

16-Tower

17-Star

18-Moon

19-Sun

20-Judgement

21-World

Alta

19 is The Sun, not the Moon.

And with 19 you get the triple 19 -10- 1 influences.

TenOfSwords

It raises a pretty puzzling question for me actually... I have 9 - 8 - 2007 = 8 coming up this year, but how do I decide if it relates to Justice or Strength... Maybe I should view it as both and see the year as a challenge to unify those two...

katarin

Rather than add up digits, i use the remainder when divided by 22
So only numbers 21 or lower are ever reduced
Example--

my birthday
21-7-1987

21-7-7 (1987 = 90*22 + 7)

35 (21+7+7 = 35)

13 (35 = 1*22 + 13)

my card is death though :(

the fool

i do break it down to below 10, but if the number is 22, i use the fool.
